Day Safari – Dinokeng Game reserve
The malaria-free Dinokeng Game Reserve, is a free-roaming Big 5 game reserve near Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa, covers approximately 21 000 hectares for guests to explore on an African safari. Varying terrain and vegetation, ranging from bushveld to grassy floodplains and thornveld including a 28 ha lake and its surrounding wetlands supports browsing and grazing species that are best enjoyed either by a guided game drive with qualified game rangers. Safari goers have the opportunity to view lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, brown hyena, wildebeest, red hartebeest, tsessebe, eland, kudu, impala, waterbuck, ostrich, jackal, hippo, crocodile and over 300 bird species, including fish eagles, the endangered blue crane and a breeding pair of martial eagles.

Enjoy a 2 – 2,5 hour game drive in this expanse of wilderness, offering a wealth of opportunity to spot and photograph Africa’s Big 5, a vast variety of plains game and plenty of smaller species of wild animal. Snacks and a drink (extra drinks optional extra) are served during the drive. It is advisable to take warm clothing along even in summer. Blankets and hot water bottles are provided in winter. Do not forget hats, sun protection, binoculars and cameras.
